It’s chili season! I love making chili in my Le Creuset dutch oven, especially on a really cold snow day. But lately I’ve been using my Crock Pot more and more. I like slow cooker chili recipes because they’re usually so simple – brown some meat (if applicable), dump in the ingredients, stir, and let the flavors develop for hours. Cooking “low and slow” (for a long time over low temperature) helps the meat get tender and develops rich flavors.
I developed this list because I was looking for unique slow cooker chili recipes. There are some traditional ones on the list (like my Slow Cooker Beef Chili) and many that are less traditional (like Chunky Venison Chili from Binky’s Culinary Carnival). Several are vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free. Note that designations like these are based on what the post on each website stated, and other recipes might meet these criteria without being labeled as such (read each recipe to confirm specific designations). Bonus: There are a few Instant Pot recipes, too!
