Epicurean Cutting Board

I received one of these as a Christmas gift several years ago. I really like it because it’s thin, heat-resistant (to 350 degrees), and dishwasher safe. The silicone corners keep the board from sliding around the counter, which is great since my granite is so slick. As much as I love a really nice wood cutting board, I prefer the Epicurean boards for everyday use because they’re so low maintenance.

iSi Flexible Measuring Cups

I love these because they’re made of flexible silicone, which reduces the likelihood that I’m going to spill something. The set comes with 3 measuring cups in 1, 2, and 4 cup sizes. The 4-cup size is perfect for filling my coffee maker or dogs’ bowl. They’re also microwave and dishwasher safe. The numbers and lines cant rub off in the dishwasher, which has happened to some of my glass measuring cups in the past.

Wusthof Knives

I wrote a post a while back that included a lot of tips regarding kitchen knives. Wusthof is my favorite brand of kitchen knife. I’m kind of partial to the santoku knife, but I love a good chef’s knife, too. Pictured: Wusthof chef’s knife and utility knife.

Le Creuset Salt Crock

My grandmother always says to make sure you have salt and your backup salt – always have a lot of salt on hand because it’s good luck for prosperity. I cook almost exclusively with kosher salt, so I like to have it handy. I keep my salt crock on my counter stocked at all times (and I have a couple of containers of backup salt in the pantry per Grandma’s advice).
